Message from the President

As Nippon Marine operates a marine transportation service, our business is of a highly public and socially important nature. Thanks to the solid relationships of trust that we enjoy with customers, ship owners, and other business partners, as well as with the public at large, Nippon Marine has enjoyed a history of over one-hundred years, and its business operations continue to expand.
Recently, however, the shipping industry has faced a difficult operating environment on both domestic and overseas routes. The industry is undergoing a major structural reorganization, in which a large number of manufacturing companies in various industries that use marine transportation have been shifting their production bases to overseas locations. The primary business strength of Nippon Marine is its wide operational range. We transport an extensive variety of cargoes including steel, timber, soil, limestone, sulfuric acid, copper ore, nonferrous metals, scrap metal, and coke, on both domestic and overseas shipping routes. Amid this rapidly changing business environment, Nippon Marine aims to optimally leverage this strength to meet the needs of customers in many different sectors. In this way, I believe we will be able to build even more robust relationships of cooperation, and achieve further growth and development.
The Nippon Marine Management Philosophy, to which we wholeheartedly subscribe, centers on the key word “trust.”
To ensure efficient and effective shipping operations, which take place in the public domain, including at sea and in harbors, it is vital for each and every employee of the Company to be fully aware of the importance of their work, so as to realize constant high levels of safety and reliable shipping services. In these ways, we are committed to earning the trust of our customers and other stakeholders, and to achieving further growth as a business enterprise through contributions to the development of society.
President
Shinichi Igata
